House of Suntory brings new releases to mark its century

House of Suntory marks a century of its journey since its Founder, Shinjiro Torii established Yamazaki Distillery. The House of Suntory has announced two limited edition bottlings released for Suntory Whisky’s centennial: a new, limited release Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt, along with the flagship Hakushu 12 Year Old clad in limited-edition celebratory packaging. These two Hakushu releases are unveiled alongside two limited-edition Yamazaki bottlings, announced separately.

The House of Suntory’s limited-edition Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt is composed of meticulously selected malt whiskies all aged for a minimum of 18 years. It has intense aromas of sage, luscious green apple, and ripe pineapple. With layers of herbal, grapefruit, and acacia honey flavours revealed on the palate, it has a complex smokey flavour. At 48 percent alcohol by volume, Hakushu 18 Year Old Peated Malt has a suggested retail price of $1,200.00 for 700ml.

Hakushu 12 Year Old has scents of green apple, basil, and pine needles on the nose. It has flavours of sweet pear, mint, and kiwi on the palate, as well as green tea and somewhat smoky aftertaste. The retail price for this whisky in a 750ml bottle with 43 percent ABV is $185.00.

The Hakushu 12 and 18 Year Old releases will be announced this month in select global markets including the United States, United Kingdom, Australia, Germany, France, and Singapore.
