Mount Gay debuts The PX Sherry Cask Expression

Mount Gay, a Barbados rum producer, has released The PX Sherry Cask Expression, the sixth limited edition in the Master Blender Collection series.

This particular expression was created using pot and column still rums, which are the product of spending at least 20 years aging in ex-American whisky casks in Barbados' tropical climate. The liquids were then aged for an extra year in casks that had previously held Pedro Ximenez Sherry wine.

According to the manufacturer, the outcome has a nose of maraschino cherry, stewed fruits, charred wood, and butterscotch. Red fruits, salted caramel, banana, toasted vanilla, and silky wood are all present on the palate.

The PX Sherry Cask Expression is non-chill filtered, and bottled at 45percent ABV. The proposed retail price for this expression, which has a production limit of 4,200 bottles, will be $270 per 700 ml bottle.
