Benriach releases two new whiskies

Benriach, a Speyside distillery owned by Brown-Forman, has introduced two 40-year-old single malts named Forty and Forty Octave Cask Matured.

One of the oldest peated malts ever released from a Speyside distillery, The Forty with 43.5 percent ABV, was produced utilising rare peated casks.

The Forty will be offered as an ongoing release at specialist stores in a few international markets beginning in June and will cost US$4,084.

The Forty has a richly fruity bouquet with aromas of sweet orange, plum, honey pomelo, dark chocolate-covered cherries, and flavours of orchard fruits like red apple and white peach.

On the other hand, Small octave barrels, which are an eighth the size of a conventional cask, were used to age The Forty Octave Cask Matured which is only available in travel retail. The 51.5 percent ABV bottle boasts flavours of ripe plum, pear, dark berries, cedarwood, and silken oak, as well as aromas of sweet plum, cherry, and honey-glazed red apple.
