Chhattisgarh’s CM refutes allegation of liquor scam

Chhattisgarh's Chief Minister, Bhupesh Baghel, has refuted allegations of a liquor scam and emphasized that there has been a growth in the state's liquor revenue over the past four-and-a-half years.

Baghel made this statement in response to the Enforcement Directorate's accusation of corruption amounting to Rs 2,161 crore in Chhattisgarh.

However, Baghel acknowledged that the excise department has issued notices to three distilleries for alleged use of fake holograms on liquor bottles.

He further stated that the state's liquor revenue has increased from Rs 3,900 crore in 2017 to Rs 6,500 crore presently.
