The Macallan releases 77-year-old whisky

The Macallan 77 Year Old has been launched as a new expression in the Scottish distillery’s Red Collection.

The beverage is currently being offered at the company's travel boutiques. The whisky was produced in 1945, and its suggested retail price is $87,000.

Small copper stills were used to distil The Macallan 77 Year Old, and hand-selected distillery oak casks were used to mature the spirit. This extreme-age statement whisky has smells of aged oak, dates, and raisins. The finish is lengthy and tropical, while the palate gives substantial flavours of baked custard and crystallised ginger.
