The Kerala government’s exchequer has increased its revenue by around Rs. 35,000 crore due to alcobev sales in the last two years.

Kerala experienced sale of 41.68 crore litres of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) from May 2021 to May 2023. Additionally, data received through RTI indicates that the State Beverages Corporation (Bevco) sold 16.67 crore litres of beer and wine between May 2021 and May 2023.

The sale of IMFL in Kerala accounted for Rs. 31,911.77 crore of the entire earnings from the sale of alcohol in the state during that time, while beer and wine sales in Kerala brought in Rs. 3,050.44 crore.
