‘Learning for Life’ by Diageo India

Diageo India has announced the expansion of its ‘Learning for Life’ programme in collaboration with the Skill Council for Persons with Disability (SCPwD).

SCPwD will train 100 people with disabilities as part of this project to get them ready for jobs in the business and hospitality industries. The three-month residential training programme is divided into two parts. It is intended to increase productivity and close skill gaps and will be held in SCPwD-affiliated training institutes across India by their qualified teachers and assessors.

This enables students to enter the workforce equipped with vital and key skills that will help them do their jobs more effectively.

There are 100 pupils in the inaugural cohort, including some who have hearing and speech impairment as well as motor disabilities. In order to facilitate learning and skill development, the carefully thought-out course is built with specialised learning modules and aided technology, and also involves sign language instructors.
