The Dalmore brings Cask Curation range

The Dalmore has introduced a trio of Sherry cask-finished whiskies comprising 26, 28 and 43-year-old whiskies finished in rare González Byass casks from Jerez de la Frontera in Spain. This launch is part of The Dalmore's Cask Curation Series.

There are only 150 sets of this series available worldwide. The cost of each set is US$37,500. Each version is the product of being matured in American white oak ex-Bourbon casks.

The 26-year-old single malt was finished in cask number 4 of González Byass 2002 Vintage. This whisky has an alcohol by volume of 48.2 percent, and has orange blossom honey, apricot, vanilla, and cacao on the nose. The palate is exuded through flavours of sugared almonds, mandarin citrus, iced cherry cake, and golden raisins.

The 28-year-old whisky has an ABV of 55.3 percent. Its nose brings notes of dark fruits, Manuka honey, liquorice, sweet tobacco, and star fruit. On the palate, marzipan, licorice, old English marmalade, and raisins soaked in sherry can be found.

The oldest whisky in the lineup, was finished in an Apostles Sherry cask that was 30 years old. This 46.8 percent single malt has warm honey, roasted chestnuts, sun-kissed raisins, and Seville orange on the nose. On the palate, there are traces of dark forest fruits, sweet Madagascar vanilla, crushed almonds, and dark chocolate.
