Ardbeg 25 Years Old named World’s Best Scotch Whisky

The 2023 New York World Wine & Spirits Competition has recognised Ardbeg 25 Years Old as World’s Best Scotch Whisky. This spirit was distilled during the 1990s.

To commemorate this momentous occasion, Ardbeg has introduced Ardbeg 25 Years Old for a strictly limited edition in travel retail outlets at Delhi International Airport, India, at a price of 1100 USD.

This bright amber coloured liquid, having an ABV of 46 percent, has an aroma of pungent burst of smoked cream, peppermint and toffee, with Ardbeg’s classic fennel and pine resin. Here distant earthy bonfires mix with herbal and fruity (banana and tropical) notes, along with fragrant candle wax.

The liquid has a taste with an extremely vibrant, hot peppery mouth feel, which leads into a burst of sherbet lemon sweetness (candied apples, pears and orange), hints of carbolic soap and tar, more creamy toffee, aniseed and chilli pepper. The finish is a long, mellow, lingering aftertaste with lots of cream, fudge and delicate antiseptic notes.
