Distinguished leader of the global wine industry, Pau Roca passes away

Pau Roca, Director General of International Organisation of Vine and Wine (OIV), passed away at the age of 65 on 7th December in Dijon, France, after a long illness.

Roca began his career in scientific research in oceanography and later moved to the olive oil sector. During his forty-year-old career, he garnered specific and in-depth knowledge of the global wine sector. He headed FEV, the Spanish Wine Federation, for more than 20 years. He was elected to head the OIV for a five-year term at the 2018 OIV General Assembly in Uruguay.
