HC refuses interim relief to Kejriwal

The Enforcement Directorate (ED) has summoned Delhi’s Chief Minister and AAP Convener Arvind Kejriwal in connection with the much talked about Delhi’s excise policy case. ED asked Kejriwal to appear before the agency on 22nd December.

Last month, he was first called by the probe agency to appear on 2nd November, but he did not turn up before the agency alleging that the notice was "vague, motivated and unsustainable in law". The summons to Kejriwal pertains to questioning in the alleged Delhi excise policy case and for recording his statement under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA).

In another development linked to Delhi’s excise policy case, the Supreme Court has dismissed the bail application of liquor businessman Sameer Mahendru in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. Mahendru sought the bail application on health grounds.
