FSSAI directs airlines to comply with food safety and standards regulations By Spiritz Desk 18 Jan 2024 in Alert New Update India’s food regulator, Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) has directed airlines and flight caterers operating in India to disclose information about the nature, origin, and manufacturing-related details of the food served on flights. Recently, the food regulator convened a meeting with leading flight caterers and airlines to assess and advance the existing food safety protocols within India's airline catering industry. The meeting was aimed to identify and discuss subjects linked to providing passengers with safe and high-quality in-flight food. Acknowledging a common concern regarding the lack of readily available information for passengers regarding in-flight food, the CEO of FSSAI has directed all flight caterers and airlines in India to strictly comply with sub-regulation 5(10)(f) and 8(4) of the Food Safety and Standards (Labelling and Display) Regulations, 2020 Subscribe to our Newsletter!
