SS Gandhi passes away

Swinder Singh (SS) Gandhi, the former Managing Director of United Spirits Ltd., has passed away. He was unwell for quite some time. Gandhi was known for his business acumen and commitment to deliver results. Born in a business family in August 1929 in Quetta, Balochistan, young Gandhi moved with his mother and brother after partition.

At the age of 17, he became one of the main breadwinners of the family. He began a trading business for various goods. But times were tough and he would often sleep at railway stations to avoid paying rent. His hard work and vision eventually made him the head of a major multi-national company in India.

In 2016, Spiritz Magazine honoured him as the Legend of the Industry under its annual Spiritz Achievers' Awards. Gandhi is regarded as the guru of surrogate advertising in India. Spiritz Team extends heartfelt condolences  on the passing away of the industry veteran and prays for his family and friends.
