In a welcome move, Saudi Arabia is set to open its first liquor outlet in its capital Riyadh, which will operate exclusively for non-Muslim diplomats.
As per the report, customers will have to register through a mobile app to get a clearance code from the country’s foreign ministry, and respect monthly quotas with their liquor purchases. The new liquor outlet is located in Riyadh's Diplomatic Quarter; a neighbourhood where embassies and diplomats reside and will be "strictly restricted" to non-Muslims, a report added.
