Haryana prohibits sale of country liquor in plastic bottles

From 1st March of this year, country made liquor in Haryana will no longer be sold in plastic bottles. According to Haryana’s Deputy Chief Minister Dushyant Chautala, with this development, Haryana will become the first state in the country to impose such a ban. Dushyant Chautala also holds the portfolio of Excise and Taxation department in the state

He added that in the excise year 2019-2020, the state government of Haryana collected Rs. 6,361 crore as excise duty. In the 2022-23 fiscal, till July, the excise tax collection of Haryana reached Rs. 9,687 crore, and on 28th January 2024, it already reached Rs 9,232 crore.
