LKG student files PIL to move a liquor shop

A five-year-old student has filed a public interest litigation (PIL) before the Allahabad High Court seeking the removal of a liquor shop located near his school in Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh.

The young petitioner alleges in his petition that there is a liquor shop near his school and often people create a nuisance there after consuming alcohol. On the petition, the court has asked the state government to seek a response from the concerned authorities as to why the licence of the liquor shop in Kanpur was being renewed at the given locality even after the school came into existence in its vicinity.

The division bench directed to list the PIL on 13th March for the next hearing
