Diageo to introduce aluminium bottles of Baileys Original Irish Cream
Diageo is set to launch limited edition aluminium bottles of Baileys Original Irish Cream as part of its effort to make its packaging more environmentally sustainable.
The new bottle weighs 85 gm, which is five times lighter than Baileys Original Irish Cream’s traditional 700ml glass model with 454gm weight. The bottle’s neck contains a 4gm plastic thread and the cap is 2.5gm of aluminium. Diageo will make over 30,000 of these aluminium bottles.
The bottle housing the beverage in it will debut this month on Heinemann’s loyalty programme platform. It will then be available from April in Amsterdam Schiphol, Frankfurt and Copenhagen international airports. In May, retail store REWE Germany will feature the bottle containing the beverage, for a limited period.
