Businesses from the US-based distilled spirits and wine, animal protein, consumer-oriented products, cotton, dairy products and more are being showcased to explore business opportunities in India’s market. The US Department of Agriculture (USDA) is organising this four-day-long event, in association with Forum of Indian Food Importers (FIFI). The US Department of Agriculture’s Under Secretary for Trade and Foreign Agricultural Affairs, Alexis M. Taylor inaugurated USDA's agri-business trade mission. Taylor leads a delegation of officials seeking to develop and expand business opportunities with importers in India. At the trade mission, US agri-businesses are participating in business-to-business meetings with potential importers from India, Nepal and Sri Lanka. India leads the region as one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Throughout the event, participants representing a diverse array of American food and agricultural products can look forward to re-invigorating existing business relationships and forging new connections with local importers. The itinerary includes engagements with USDA leadership, retail visits in New Delhi and surrounding areas, and numerous networking opportunities. The United States and India enjoy a long history of agricultural trade and this trade mission provides an opportunity to enhance that bilateral relationship. A recent demonstration of this partnership was India’s reduction in tariffs on a variety of US agricultural products. Subscribe to our Newsletter!
