GPS monitoring for liquor transport in Gurugram

The Gurugram administration ordered the installation of GPS devices in all vehicles carrying liquor. Additionally, a dedicated control room has been set up to monitor the movement of these vehicles.

Licensed liquor is now permitted to be transported only through 45 identified routes across the state. Any deviation from these approved routes results in immediate seizure of the vehicle.

Liquor transporters are instructed to strictly adhere to the pre-approved routes. In the wake of the model code of conduct being enforced, the excise department and police have taken stringent action. Between March 16th and April 17th, 2024, they seized 12,098 liters of illegal liquor and registered 206 FIRs.
