Chhattisgarh HC questions liquor transport tender

The Chhattisgarh High Court has asked the Chhattisgarh State Marketing Corporation Limited (CSMCL) to respond to a case about the tender for transporting liquor in the state.

A plea filed by the Singh & Company before the HC to cancel the tender awarded to the ineligible company under the eligibility provision of liquor transport tender. Earlier this year, CSMCL issued a tender to transport both domestic and imported liquor from warehouses to retail stores in Chhattisgarh. The tender had a rule that if two people from the same family applied separately, all their applications would be rejected.

The tender divided the state into 12 zones, and applicants could apply for multiple zones, but could only be chosen for a maximum of two zones.
