The Chhattisgarh State Beverage Corporation (CSBC) has received rate proposals from 70 companies for the supply of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL), which includes 303 spirit brands and 69 beer brands under a new procurement system.
This development follows a decision made in June by the state cabinet, led by the Chief Minister, to streamline the wholesale purchase of foreign liquor by removing the FL 10 AB license system.
The revised process will enable direct purchases from manufacturers. Under the new excise framework, liquor pricing and approved retail prices will be published on the department's website.
Additionally, liquor shops will be equipped with CCTV cameras connected to a centralised monitoring system, and a mobile app is being developed to help consumers check the availability of various brands at state-run shops.
The state excise department is also prioritising measures to curb illegal liquor sales and ensure the timely deposit of liquor sale proceeds.
