Minister of State (Independent Charge) for Excise of Uttar Pradesh, Nitin Agarwal has directed that in the bars and clubs in Uttar Pradesh liquor should not be served to people below 21 years of age . He instructed for continuous checking to adhere to this rule.

He also instructed that after the prescribed operational hours, bars and liquor shops in the state should not be allowed to remain open in Uttar Pradesh and for violation of rules action must be taken.

Agrawal also pointed out that people should not be permitted to consume liquor in the open.
