Pernod Ricard has recognised India as its largest market by volume and its second-largest by value, according to Jean Touboul, MD of Pernod Ricard India. In FY24, the company saw a 6.1 percent increase in net sales in the Indian market, establishing India as a "growth engine" for the multinational.

Touboul highlighted that Indian market's performance regarding Pernod Ricard had been robust as compared to other global markets. "India remains a major growth engine for the company, and this has been confirmed year after year. Last year ending on June 30, 2024, we grew 6 percent in India," Touboul stated, according to The Economic Times as also reported by multiple news sources.

As part of its growth strategy, Pernod Ricard envisages expanding its Indian whisky portfolio’s presence from 40 to 70 countries, focusing on markets with a large Indian diaspora. This aligns with the company’s goal to increase exports from India.
