Rajasthan to extend liquor vends operation hours

The Rajasthan State Excise Department is mulling extending the business hours of liquor stores to 10pm from the current 8pm from next year.

This proposal was discussed with stakeholders during a meeting on the upcoming excise policy. Key suggestions include aligning liquor stock with annual license fee, ensuring uninterrupted supply, renewing existing licenses, and raising profit margins on liquor to at least 25 percent.

Stakeholders also recommended reducing liquor outlets in urban areas to address public concerns and integrating excise fee into duties for smoother operations.
