The Telangana government is considering raising liquor prices for the third time in five years, and the first time since the Congress party took power in December. The proposed increase will also affect license and registration fees for companies and distilleries.
Earlier, in 2022, the then BRS government had last hiked the prices for all types of Indian Made Foreign Liquor (IMFL) and beer in Telangana. Prior to that, the KCR government had increased the IMFL and beer rates in May 2020, soon after the first phase of Covid-19 lockdown.
