UP government's initiative to make Mahakumbh-2025 liquor free

UP’s Chief minister Yogi Adityanath has declared that the sale of meat and liquor would be prohibited within the traditional boundaries of Prayagraj, during the Mahakumbh-2025.He said the decision was taken while taking into account of the sentiments of the entire Sanatan community, which include sadhus, sanyasis and ascetics among others.

The CM made the announcement at a meeting in the Mahakumbh Mela area, where representatives from all 13 akhadas, including the Khak-Chowk, Dandibara, and Acharyabara traditions, were present.
