Despite the relentless heat wave sweeping across Delhi, the weekend evening at Dilli Haat in Pitampura was transformed into a vibrant oasis of delight. Irresistible drinks and scrumptious food, complemented by pulsating melodies, managed to infuse gaiety into the sultry twilight. The crowd, undeterred by the sweltering temperatures, thrived on the cool excitement that filled the air. This enchanting atmosphere marked the inaugural edition of the BigTap Fest, a sensational event brought to life by RASHA Solutions. Spiritz was the media partner of the fest.

BigTap Fest was held on 15th and 16th June to provide an effective B2C platform between the alcobev producers and consumers. It was perhaps the first of its kind open air B2C event held in Dilli Haat, which is run by Delhi Tourism and Transport Development Corporation (DTTDC). The latent business objective was sprinkled with lots of fun on the ground, which was manifested by the enthusiastic crowd participation.

The event showcased a fusion of enticing cuisine, drinks, and music. The initiative was backed by renowned alcobev companies and food ventures. Foster’s was the presenting sponsor of the BigTap Fest.
Foster’s, Sterren, Oaksmith, Bad Monkey, Six Fields, Bee Young and Lone Wolf were the beverage partners for the two-day event while Exotisch Global Cuisines and Olio Pizzas were the food partners. Quality drinking water was supplied at the event by Sky and Svva while the premium Estuary water was made available for blending and cocktail-making.
The guests walking in checked out the beer serving stalls of Foster’s, Lone Wolf, Bad Monkey, Six Fields and Bee Young. Foster’s which returned to the capital after a gap was offering two variants: Australian strong premium beer and Sterren 8. Beer lovers are happy to see their favourite Foster’s back on the shelves. Its variant Sterren 8 (Premium Strong Beer -German recipe) saw a lot of traction among the guests. These brands are now owned in India by KALS Group. Lone Wolf’s Maverick Blonde Lager and Alpha Witbier witnessed a sizeable number of beer lovers lining up to get their brew. Both lager and witbier were hit among the crowd and they kept returning for more.

Bad Monkey’s stall was thronged by a big crowd, clearly showing its popularity among the beer lovers. Its super strong beer (8 percent v/v) was seen relished by the people at the amphitheater while enjoying the musical performances. Six Fields Blanche Wheat Beer was the flavour for the evening in the midst of all strong beer, it was the only mild beer for those who preferred a lighter beer steeped in the sweet notes and aromas of wheat. Prem Dewan, the CMD of Devans Modern Breweries Ltd. was seen interacting with the consumers. It must have gladdened him to see Devans’ Six Fields Blanche getting a warm response from the crowd.
Bee Young Crafted Strong Beer, especially meant to appeal to millennial consumers, attracted the young crowd for its crisp, clean, and punchy taste with a citrusy twang.
For those who preferred stronger tipple and whisky-based cocktails, Suntory India’s stall was there to satiate their desire. Among the whisky brands, Oaksmith Gold, Teacher’s and Jim Beam were there to attract the connoisseurs. Oaksmith Gold Fashioned, Oaksmith Gold Coastal Sour, Jim Beam Highball, Jim Beam Claremont Club, and Teacher’s Highland Mule were among the heady whisky-based cocktails on offer.

Of course, the drinks on offer were complemented by some tasty offerings at the food stall, which included Aloo Tikki with Chutney, Paalak Patta Chaat, Mango Dahi Bhalla, Smoked Chicken Cold Salad, Chicken Patty Burgers with Wedges, Malai Chicken Tikka with Roomali, Mutton Curry served with Pav among other delights.

As the evening beautifully coalsced into night, an infectious energy filled the air, driven by the captivating melodies of Dosh the Band, Tathaghat, and DJ Khyber 13. The eclectic musical lineup, ranging from soul-stirring and introspective to lively and upbeat, held the audience spellbound.
Dosh the Band enchanted the crowd with a diverse repertoire that included here to attract the connoisseurs. Oaksmith Gold Fashioned, Oaksmith Gold Coastal Sour, Jim Beam Highball, Jim Beam Claremont Club, and Teacher’s Highland Mule were among the heady whisky-based cocktails on offer.

Their enchanting performance had the audience not only glued to their seats but also dancing on stage. Tathaghat’s renditions of ‘Kabira,’ ‘Iktara,’ and ‘Yun Hi Chala Chal’ among others were equally mesmerising, with lead singer Tanusri weaving magic with her voice and captivating presence.
Chandigarh-based electronic music producer and DJ Khyber 13 elevated the atmosphere under the starlit sky, blending fun and romance with his masterful control of the DJ table. His beats created unforgettable ambience that kept everyone on their feet.

Emcee Swati Singh Rajput added an interactive twist to the evening with her engaging questions, sparking lively participation from the audience. Contestants eagerly competed to outwit one another, with those answering correctly got gift hampers filled with products from Foster’s, Steeren, Oaksmith, and Lone Wolf. The night was a harmonious blend of rhythm, joy, and connection, leaving everyone eagerly anticipating the next edition of this musical extravaganza.

The Department of Excise of the Government of NCT Delhi, Delhi Police, Delhi Fire Service, and the Public Health Department of the Municipal Corporation of Delhi played pivotal roles in making the BigTap Fest a resounding success. The professionalism and efficiency of each department ensured the smooth execution of the event. Notably, the most significant support came from the Department of Tourism and the Delhi Tourism Development Corporation, whose officers went above and beyond the call of duty to make the event exceptional.
