As Mario opines, it is the young and vibrant youth who are driving the tequila demand in India. Women who know how to handle the glass are also very comfortable drinking tequila. There is one thing though: consumers are often confused about the difference between agave spirits and tequila.

“Even though the agave spirits are not tequila they definitely have managed to confuse the market regarding what is tequila and what is not. Some of the sellers have been misleading the consumers and therein causing us to lose major market share,” Mario points out.
He is happy to witness that tequila-based cocktails like Margarita and Long Island Iced Tea are iconic cocktails that are highly sought after. Tonia Group’s Villa Vercelli tequila does very well both in a cocktail as well as a direct shot drink.
