The Macallan Unveils Amber Meadow

A Harmonious Collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney

The Macallan has announced a collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney, united by curiosity, respect and admiration for the natural world. Stella and Mary have partnered with The Macallan on the creation of the third edition of The Harmony Collection – the limited annual release series which shines a spotlight on the brand’s inherent curiosity and innovative and creative mindset.

One of the expressions of the third release, The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow was unveiled last evening at a beautifully curated event. This marks a significant milestone in the world of fine spirits. 

The third instalment in the annual release series includes two distinctive expressions: The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow and Green Meadow, inspired by The McCartney sisters’ love of Scotland, which in turn stems from their memories in the Scottish countryside.

To mark this deep connection with the land, the presentation boxes and bottle labels have been made using discarded meadow cuttings embracing the re-use of natural materials to create beauty from resources at the end of their lives. The packaging of both the releases features photography of The Macallan Estate, captured by Mary McCartney.

The Macallan Amber Meadow is created by Macallan’s whisky maker, Steven Bremner, in collaboration with Stella and Mary McCartney (daughters of the iconic singer, songwriter and musician, and The Beatles band member, Paul McCartney), drawing on the sisters' shared memories of the Scottish countryside. The liquid is matured in a combination of sherry-seasoned oak and bourbon casks.

Produced using discarded meadow cuttings, its packaging features photography of The Macallan estate, captured by Mary McCartney. Bottled at 44.2 percent, The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow will be available in India from July 2024 in Haryana (at Rs.18,500), in Delhi (at Rs 22,417) and in Mumbai (at Rs 22,000).

While talking about The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow, Steven Bremner, the maker of this exquisite whisky said, “There is so much to discover with The Macallan Harmony Collection Amber Meadow. It is a single malt redolent of warm meadows and mature barley fields, with a rich, citrus scented finish.”

“The 100 percent natural summer evening colour derived from our exceptional sherry seasoned oak and bourbon casks reflects the richness of the flavour which awaits. On the nose fresh citrus fruits and honeysuckle are complemented by hints of vanilla, coconut and ripe barley fields. On tasting, notes of oak, lemon, melon are prominent, accompanied by flavours of classic scone and almond with green tea, before giving way to a rich and sweet long finish,” he elaborated, while talking about the nose and tasting notes of the whisky.

Inspired by the natural world, The Macallan Amber Meadow captures the essence of its namesake, presenting a rich and harmonious blend that speaks to the beauty and complexity of the environment. Stella and Mary McCartney's influence is evident in every detail, from the sustainably sourced ingredients to the exquisite design of the bottle.

This collaboration not only celebrates the unique talents of the McCartney sisters but also highlights The Macallan's dedication to sustainability and artistic expression. The result is a truly remarkable addition to The Macallan Harmony Collection, one that promises to enchant connoisseurs and collectors alike.
