Amrut Distilleries crowned ‘Best Distillery in the World’

Amrut Distilleries has been honoured as the ‘Best Distillery in the World’ in the Asian Whisky category, at the prestigious 2024 Tokyo Whisky and Spirits Competition. This remarkable achievement adds to Amrut’s extensive collection of over 350 awards, further solidifying its status as a global leader in the luxury premium spirits market.

The competition, organised by the Whisky Research Centre and led by Mamoru Tsuchiya, is renowned for its rigorous judging process. A panel of over 200 industry experts assessed entries from top distilleries across Taiwan, Japan and India, which makes Amrut’s victory with their Amrut Fusion whisky particularly noteworthy.

This accolade is a significant milestone for Amrut, which has already garnered acclaim in western markets. Winning in Japan, a country celebrated for its precision and craftsmanship, underscores Amrut’s growing global influence.

Thrivikram G Nikam, Joint Managing Director of Amrut Distilleries, expressed pride in this achievement. He dedicated the award to his team and the people of India. "India’s pride Amrut Distilleries' recognition rightfully demonstrates that Indian brands are primed for global recognition, sooner or later,” he emphasised.
