AP government appoints new APSBC MD

The Andhra Pradesh Government has appointed Nishant Kumar, a 2014 batch IAS officer, as the Managing Director of Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Ltd and the Commissioner of Distilleries & Breweries. 

The state government’s notification on the appointment states, "Sri Nishant Kumar, IAS (2014), Director of Excise and Prohibition, is placed in full additional charge of the positions of (i) Managing Director, Andhra Pradesh State Beverages Corporation Ltd; (ii) Commissioner of Distilleries & Breweries, until further orders."  

According to the report, Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is expected to convene a review meeting on excise issues and discuss draft proposals for a new excise policy, which is anticipated to be implemented from October.
