The 203rd Independence Day of Peru was celebrated with great enthusiasm and cultural splendour in Bengaluru recently. The event was hosted by  Vikram Viswanath, Honorary Consul of Peru in Bengaluru. The event was graced by the presence of distinguished guests from India as well as Peru to mark the occasion, including H.E. Javier Paulinich, Ambassador of Peru to India.

Addressing the gathering, Peruvian Ambassador to India,  H.E. Javier Paulinich enumerated on the Peru-India relations in diverse sectors. Ambassador Paulinich said, “India and Peru both countries share strong macroeconomic foundations and resources, as well as the complementarity of our economies.” Paulinich added, “Our countries have collaborated extensively in various sectors, especially in the fields of trade, finances, culture and active exchanges between our peoples, as well as global initiatives spearheaded by India such as the International Solar Alliance, the Coalition for Disaster Resilient Infrastructure and, recently, the Big Cat Alliance.”

 The evening was a captivating blend of Peruvian culture and cuisine. Renowned Peruvian Chef, Carolina Oshiro presented a culinary extravaganza; offering guests a delightful taste of Peru. The mesmerising dance performance by award-winning Peruvian dancers added to the celebration.
