Sahi Shuzo, the makers of Dassai sake, is planning to brew sake in space by sending ingredients to the International Space Station for fermentation in a microgravity environment.

The exclusive space-brewed sake will be limited to a single 100 ml bottle priced at an extraordinary 100 million yen (around USD 653,000), making it one of the world’s most expensive drinks.

The company is working on specialised brewing equipment for the project, with a launch set for 2025.
