Liquor at Delhi Metro outlets By admin 13 Nov 2022 in Stories New Update Delhi excise department has started opening liquor outlets at the Delhi metro station premises under the recently rolled out old excise policy. So far, around six liquor vends have been opened on different metro stations' premises. As per the reports, Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is being approached by the Delhi government undertakings to get permission for opening liquor outlets at other stations. Excise Department has a view that the capital city’s metro stations have a high footfall and would be a source of revenue with increased sales. However, the DMRC has also issued licenses to the Delhi Consumers' Cooperative Wholesale Store Ltd (DCCWS) to open liquor stores at over 6 of the city’s metro stations. The excise department is banking on liquor outlets at metro stations and working to pitch in government corporations to in cash possibilities to attract liquor sales and revenue.
