Sea aged wines

UK’s Exton Park Winery is to release sea aged sparkling wines around Christmas, in the last leg of this year.

Exton Park is said to be the first winery in the UK to release sea aged sparkling wine. In 2018, Exton Park submerged 200 bottles of its 2014 vintage Blanc de Blancs. The wine bottles were stored 60 metres below sea at the coast of Brest in Brittany.

Additionally, the winery aged the same wine 60 metres above sea level. The final wines are named 60 Above and 60 Below.
