Another dismal auction for Chandigarh administration

Only one of the Chandigarh administration’s 20 remaining liquor vends has been sold in its 11th auction of liquor vends, despite the excise and taxation department of the UT slashing the reserve price of the remaining liquor vends by up to 35 percent.

According to the available information, a liquor vend in Mani Majra, situated close to the railway crossing, was the only one vend sold in the 11th auction, against a reserve price of Rs. 1.94 crore, which brought in Rs. 1.95 crore.

Only 76 liquor vends in Chandigarh out of 95 have been sold so far. Chandigarh is still struggling to sell its remaining vends.
