Delhi HC serves notice to Delhi government By Spiritz Desk 20 Jul 2023 in Alert New Update Recently notice was issued by the Delhi High Court to various Delhi government authorities on a plea of Residents' Welfare Association(RWA), which sought relocation of a liquor shop which is located in Convenience Shopping Centre of Sector 4, Rohini. The notice was served to Delhi government, Delhi’s Department of Excise, Entertainment and Luxury Tax, Delhi State Civil Supplies Corporation(Liquor Division), Delhi Development Authority, Municipal Corporation of Delhi and SHO of Vijay Vihar The petition of the Residents’ Welfare Association claimed that the said liquor shop is situated in proximity to residential pockets, school, Gurdwara, dispensary, temple etc. which infringes on the Constitutional and legal rights of the local residents and is in violation of Delhi’s excise policy and provisions of the DMC Act and Excise Act.
