No drinking at heritage sites in Maharashtra

Maharashtra excise department has warned that anyone caught consuming alcoholic beverages in forts and other historic structures in Maharashtra will face harsh punishment.

It is illegal to consume alcohol in a fort and other historic structures in Maharashtra, and violators risk a six-month sentence of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Rs.10,000 for indulging in such criminal acts.
