Bumper liquor sales in Delhi on the eve of Diwali

According to available data from Delhi’s excise department, 3.04 crore liquor bottles were sold in Delhi during the last 18 days leading up to Diwali, which amounted to whooping sales worth Rs 525.84 crore. During the same period before the festival of lights in the last year, 2.11 crore liquor bottles were sold.

Two days prior to Diwali, 18,89,969 liquor bottles were sold in the capital as compared to 15,04,000 last year. One day prior to Diwali, 27,83,175 liquor bottles were sold, as compared to 19,39,594 liquor bottles sold on one day prior to Diwali in the last year.
