Sanjay Singh moves Delhi HC to get bail

Aam Admi Party leader and Rajya Sabha Member Sanjay Singh has approached Delhi High Court to get bail in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. The move comes after a lower court dismissed Sanjay’s bail plea on 22nd December 2023.

On 21 December, the trial court had also extended his judicial custody in the case and had asked the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to provide case related documents to him. On the bail application, the court observed that the evidence demonstrated the accused involvement in money laundering and that there were reasonable grounds to believe in the guilt based on the connection to proceeds of crime from scheduled offences investigated by the CBI.
