ED moves court against Kejriwal for skipping summons

The Enforcement Directorate has filed a fresh complaint against Delhi's Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal before the court for his not complying with the summons issued to him in connection with the 2021-22 liquor policy case.

The complaint has been filed under Section 174 of IPC for non-attendance in obedience to an order from a public servant and Section 50 of the Prevention of Money Laundering Act for non-compliance with summons issued by the ED. So far, the ED has issued five summons to Arvind Kejriwal, demanding him to appear for the ongoing investigation into the alleged liquor policy scam.

However, Kejriwal has skipped the summons, claiming that those were illegal and politically motivated. The court will take up the case for hearing on 7th February.
