The Last Drop Distillers unveils its 2024 collection By Spiritz Desk 25 Apr 2024 in Latest News New Update The Last Drop Distillers has launched its new 2024 Collection, comprising three exceptional spirits. They are two very different single malt Scotch whiskies, and a truly global rum, which tells a tale of time and serendipity. 40 Year Old Auchentoshan Single Malt Scotch Whisky from the Auchentoshan Distillery is testimony to two centuries of craftsmanship, and embodies the essence of Scottish Lowlands and the tranquil shores of Loch Katrine from where it hails – and where the echoes of Sir Walter Scott's 'The Lady of the Lake' still resonate. After 40 years in an ex-bourbon cask, the angels had taken quite a large share, and the yield was just 72 bottles: each one a delight. The second release of 2024 from the The Last Drop Distillers is a 22 Year Old Infinitum Rum Blend. With constituents from Guyana to Guadeloupe, from Fiji to Brazil, this rum from The Last Drop Distillers is a liquid of international origin with limited 136 bottles; it comes across as a rare treasure born from hundreds of samples, drawn but unused during the course of the year 2000, and the product of maturation in an oak cask in a Liverpool warehouse for 22 years. 55 Year Old Tomintoul Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the third and final bottling in The Last Drop Distillers’ 2024 recently launched collection. It is a remarkable combination: a very old whisky from a very young distillery, matured in a variety of sherry casks, all brought together under the watchful eye of a master of whisky and wood. Distilled in November 1968, it was filled into a variety of ex-sherry butts and hogsheads, before the liquid remaining in those casks was combined and finished in an Amoroso butt for a further 20 months. This beautiful single malt Scotch whisky has matured gracefully to deliver a liquid of immense richness, layering and complexity. Subscribe to our Newsletter!
