The Delhi government is set to enhance consumer experience by opening more premium liquor stores in malls to allow direct customer access to alcobev brands without counters. Four government run corporations DSIIDC, DTTDC, DCCWS, and DSCSC have been directed to explore locations and establish these stores.

Delhi government’s decision to open premium liquor shops follows an earlier attempt in 2021-22 under the now scrapped excise policy that introduced spacious premium shops, later shut down when Delhi reverted to its former regime in 2022.

Despite the government’s subsequent opening of nearly 50 upscale outlets, concern department’s officials believe the new stores will better match the previous liquor outlets.
