Johnnie Walker has launched its latest innovation, the Blue Label Elusive Umami, a Scotch whisky, in India. Crafted by Johnnie Walker’s Master Blender, Emma Walker in collaboration with Michelin-starred Chef, Kei Kobayashi, this whisky captures the enigmatic umami taste.

With only one in 25,000 casks making the cut, this limited-edition blend boasts a unique balance of sweet and savoury notes, including blood oranges, red berries, sweet wood spice, smoked meat, and a hint of salt and pepper.

Ruchira Jaitly, Chief Marketing Officer of Diageo India, expressed her excitement about the launch, while stating, "Johnnie Walker is more than a whisky brand — it's a symbol of progress and contemporary luxury. Our heritage is built on exceptional craftsmanship and iconic products, but we are constantly pushing boundaries to redefine the luxury experience. Collaborating with visionary partners like Chef Kei Kobayashi on Johnnie Walker Blue Label Elusive Umami exemplifies our commitment to innovation."

The launch was celebrated with an exclusive event at The Taj Mahal Palace in Mumbai on 24th August, where guests embarked on a sensory journey curated by Chef Dharshan Munidasa to explore the complexity of this extraordinary whisky.
