Kerala to open super premium liquor outlets

The Kerala State Beverages Corporation (BEVCO) is set to open super premium liquor outlets in four key locations—Thrissur, Kozhikode, Ernakulam, and Kumarakom.  With this move, the corporation aims to cater to the high-end market.

Premium outlets will offer a wide range of alcoholic beverages, including IMFL, imported liquor, beer, and wine. As part of its expansion strategy, the corporation plans to roll out similar outlets in more places in the next phase. To enhance customer experience, liquor companies will be permitted to showcase their products within these outlets by paying a rental fee for display space.

In this regard, the corporation has begun reaching out directly to property owners across the state to lease buildings for liquor outlets. This initiative aims to bypass middlemen and curb rent inflation.
