Telangana’s Excise Minister, Jupally Krishna Rao clarified that the state government did not plan to raise liquor prices despite the increased revenue estimates in the budget.

The Minister emphasised that the state government's strategy involved reducing leakages and pilferages within the liquor supply chain to boost revenue.

The state government has raised its revenue estimates from Rs 20,298.89 crore in the revised estimates for 2023-24 to Rs 25,617.53 crore in the budget estimates for 2024-25.
