NRAI asked for reduction in liquor licence fees

National Restaurant Association of India (NRAI) has asked the Telangana government to lower the liquor license fees. These fees are currently the highest in the country, costing over Rs. 42 lakh.

NRAI has proposed to bring down liquor licence fee in Telangana to help smaller food & beverage outlets in the state and to advance the state's excise revenues. The association has also advocated extending operational hours for outlets serving liquor in the state.

Moreover, NRAI has suggested that the state government either reduce the number of dry days to support bars and restaurants or refund and reimburse the cost of dry days on licence fees to all liquor licence holders in the state.

NRAI has asked the Telangana government to allow microbreweries in Telangana to produce and supply their kegs or bottles for and to other restaurants as it would boost excise revenues, availability of locally produced beer while increasing business for these microbreweries too.
