Goa-based East Side Distillery's Nomad Oscuro Dark Rum has got a Gold at the prestigious The Rum & Cachaça Masters 2024.
This accolade underscores Nomad's commitment to excellence in crafting exceptional rum. Nomad Oscuro Dark Rum is a product of blending aged rum with Japanese Hinoki and finishing it in Jamaican barrels. This meticulous process results in a versatile and sophisticated spirit, boasting a rich amber hue indicative of its maturation in wooden casks.
Nomad Oscuro Dark Rum tantalises the senses with its complex bouquet of toffee, caramelised bananas, palosanto, vanilla, and Hinoki cypress wood. Its palate delights with warm notes of marzipan, raisin cake, and cypress wood, underscored by a subtle sweetness and a velvety texture. Whether savoured neat or as the centerpiece of a cocktail, this smoky, spicy, and impeccably smooth rum promises a fantastic drinking experience.
Nomad Oscuro is celebrated for its intricate blend of flavours, including malty chocolate, nutmeg, cinnamon, and clove, balanced with a pleasing palate that isn't overly sweet. Its distinct spice character, complemented by a noticeable clove and vanilla woodiness, presents a concentrated sweetness, embodying the classic spiced rum profile with a modern twist. Nomad Oscuro has been created by Victor Benito, Head Distiller of ESD.
