The Embassy of Georgia, in collaboration with GWS and Château Mukhrani, organised a Georgian wine tasting event at the Taj Mahal Hotel in New Delhi on December 13.20241213_190934

The event was  attended by the Ambassador of Georgia, HE Vakhtang Jaoshvili, wine officoadoes and  journalists . At the event, Mikheil Kobaladze, Head of Export Sales and Mariam Dzotsenidze, Export Sales Manager of Marussia Beverages, presented four wines, each of red and white, from their two companies—Château Mukhrani, which makes premium Georgian wines and GWS, which makes affordable wines.

The evening started with Château Mukhrani’s Goruli Mtsvane 2023, made with Goruli Mtsvane, a grape variety from the Kartli region. It was followed by GWS’ Mtsvane Kakhuri Tamada made from grapes in Kakhuri; Secret Collection Dry White 2020 Mukhrani, a fruit-forward variant; and Qvevri Dry Wine 2019 Mukhrani, a dark golden, full-bodied wine. These were followed with red wines—Saperavi Dry Red 2021 Tamada, made from 100 percent grapes from Kakheti; Secret Collection Dry Red 2019 Mukhrani, a well-rounded wine; Reserve Royal Shavkapito Dry Red 2019 from Kartli that had a hint of smokiness and Grand Reserve Dry Red 2017 made with grapes from Kakheti. It had a slightly spicy flavour.

“These wines are made using the traditional Qveri technique, which makes them unique. We hope the diversified and terroir-driven wines soon make their way into the Indian market,” said Kobaladze.
