Following the Telangana government’s recent approval of increased supply fees for beer companies, IMFL manufacturers are now seeking a similar price adjustment, citing mounting manufacturing expenses and a shrinking profit margin.
According to news reports, the push for a price hike is driven by escalating production costs and stagnant supply rates, which are making operations increasingly difficult to sustain.
Since the formation of Telangana, liquor prices have been increased four times—in 2015, 2017, 2020, and 2023—with the most significant hike of 10 percent implemented across liquor categories last year.
